Hi
My dog is infected with a bacteria, I have taken her to the Vet, he just gives her antibotic. She gets well for a while, but it is recurrent. Since father's day, she has gone twice to the Vet and and taken her medication, got well. It is a cycle.
To this date the Vet, does not know what bacteria she has, (he does not have the equipment to evaluate it.)
My question would be: Is there definete cure to bacteriason dogs?? Would it help to know what bacteria she has??
2nd question... Can a human get the bacteria from a dog?? ( the dog sleeps in my bed).

Hi, If it keeps happening then i would watch your dog like a hawk just to rule out if shes eating anything shes not susposed to like plants etc... in the garden or if peolpe are feeding items you dont know about. It might be something compleatly different but it wont hurt to watch. Also you say its a cycle - have you noticed any changes in your enviroment when it happens? something that wont affect us might affect your dog. hth
Hi Sonny,
You are correct, and I am keeping an eye on that.
Unfortunately, my dog (different from other dogs that I have owed) likes to give a "try" to everything she sees. A very bad habbit that she has since she came from the Pet store. I have trained to leave all her bad habbits.. except this one.
It is like.. she waits until I am not looking and then she takes a bite. (LOL).. You can tell that she really enjoys it. My Vet said that most of her race are like that.
Any way, I will keep a closer eye on her to see if this might be the cause.
Thank you
Hi Nancy
You say that your vet does not have the equipment to evaluate it, surely he could send off samples to a lab to get results or refer you to a specialist.
Hope you find out whats causing the problem.
Yes, I will go to another vet to see if I can check of the name of the bacteria that is affecting my dog, and way I can be sure it is a bacteria and something else.
thanks
