hi everyone does anyone know if these breeds are available here in the uk?
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 19.08.05 17:12 UTC
They're not breeds, they're crosses/mongrels! ;) Try your local rescue centre.
:)

As JG says they are not breeds...anyone who tries to tell you differently is conning you out of your money. They are cross breeds that are bred to fool people into thinking they are buying a 'rare' breed worth lots of money when you would be far better off going to a rescue kennel.

However if you wish to be conned out of money, i can offer you for a special rate, a stunning chocolate coloured dobe-a-dor.

Why is a cockerpoo, a schnoodle a pugalier worth £500 and more (usually a LOT more) when my germansprolliedog is worth £0, my whiplington is worth just £50, my germanlurcherstaff £0???

They are all crossbreeds or mongrels, perhaps ill set up a website for rescue dogs, but instead of saying 'collie x gsd' and a donation to rescue of around £100, ill call it a Germancollie and charge £500.

Drat, I should never have had my MaliGolds neutered -they could have made me a FORTUNE and I could do with some money! ;) ;) ;)

Marianne (oh and I obviously made a huge mistake charging just £50 for my very accidental crossbreeds when it happened a few years ago..... Darn!)

WOW

I got a real bargain then with my Afgharrier - he was free, the most gorgeous dog I have ever known, everyone wanted one, I could have made an absolute fortune if his recall had been any good ;) :) :) :)

I obviously got a real bargain too. My Labrachow (or Chowador, if you prefer  ) cost me diddly squat.

very interesting on how you handled that post jumped straight to the wrong conclusion. if any of you had bothered to ask instead of taking the p***   some one asked me if i knew what they were i diddn't and wanted to find out. no you havn't scared me away it takes more than that.
and your reaction to someone who doesn't know that much about dogs you were'nt actually helpfull
- By Carla Date 21.08.05 10:56 UTC
JG and Archers posts answered your question I thought?
- By abigail [gb] Date 21.08.05 10:58 UTC
I wasn't talking about them i was talking about the idiots that would rather  knock you down than be helpfull
- By digger [gb] Date 21.08.05 11:44 UTC
It's a shame you can't appreciate the humour behind the posts that followed on once your initial enquiry was answered.  On boards like this a thread will often web and flow around the initial enquiry and can become very educational as well as humourous....
- By Moonmaiden Date 21.08.05 10:58 UTC
The answer to your question is they are not breeds & anyone breeding this cross breeds is doing so for money & they will more than likely not have had any health screening done.

The breeds have genetic disorders in common & would advise against anyone buying such a puppy

If anyone wants a x breed there are thousands in the rescues all over the country & taking in one of these is more resposible than buying a designer cross breeds with a huge price tag, which only encourages the breeders to do more repeat breedings

I have owned mongrels rescues in the past & loved them to bits & one did look like a mini longcoated GSD
- By abigail [gb] Date 21.08.05 11:05 UTC
Thank you for all of that information  i'll pass it on
- By theemx [gb] Date 21.08.05 11:52 UTC
What was wrong with both JG and Archers explanation??? They both clearly said, as has Moonmaiden now, that these are not breeds they are 'designer' crossbreeds or mongrels and you can find the same or similar in rescues anywhere in teh country.

There's a common "oodle" cross-breed open day near me today, in the local village hall.  You can imagine the advertising ... all leads to suggest this is a new breed!
- By f.a.brook [gb] Date 21.08.05 14:26 UTC
im sorry if i hert your feelings, but if no one joked in posts then we would all be a boring old lot!
- By mannyG [us] Date 21.08.05 14:57 UTC

- By misstyko [gb] Date 22.08.05 03:02 UTC
pooch who?
- By Fillis Date 22.08.05 18:02 UTC
But that wasnt the question you asked. "What are they" is a whole lot different to "are they available"
- By digger [gb] Date 22.08.05 18:53 UTC
Maybe if the OP hadn't described them incorrectly as 'breeds' and enquired about breeders who mated two dogs of the two different breeds, they may have got the information they were looking for (if only in a PM)
- By Mr Murph [gb] Date 22.08.05 19:20 UTC
i dont know where you will get one but there is a post going just now that will help you get all the lovely little pink and frilly clothes for it.

So, if it went one further and we bred a cockapoo with a schnoodle would we get a cockadoodle ?  :)

And if we added a great dane (scooby) would it be a cockadoodledoo ?

OR - if you cross a Hamiltonstovare with a Leonburger would you then get a Hamburger ?  :D
