Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / Soft coated wheaten terrier and Norfolk

I am looking to get two puppys (for company for each other).  I am interested in a Norfolk terrier and a soft coated wheaten terrier.  Does anybody have any advice/know of any breeders who have some available.
Thanks
Jaine

Why are you looking for them to be company for each other? Wheatens crave the company of people, so if it is because they will be left for long periods, a wheaten is not the breed to choose. 2 puppies together is VERY hard work - try looking through some of the previous threads for thoughts on having two together.

Mmmm that sounds so fun, two puppies.

Thats 2 x the puppy poo
2 x the puddles on the floor
2 x the chewed up stuff
2 x the yapping/barking/wrestling with each other all day long

oh, and about 10 x teh effort required to train them both to a reasonable standard.

The future would look something like this:

2 dogs who cannot be off lead together. Two dogs who have been allowed to roughouse together and thus have not learned adult manners and body language. Two dogs who, due to lack of time have not been fully trained and who hurtle up to strange dogs and bounce on them, earning them a bite or snap.
And quite possibly, two dogs who at 18-24 months decide they HATE one another (depending on teh combination of sexes you have), and one must be rehomed (if you havent done this already because they are so hard to train as it is), or two dogs who decide htey LUV one another and have puppies. oh joy.

Get one now. Get the second in 2 years time.

Have to agree that 2 pups, especially wheaten pups would be unbelievably exhausting. I've had one and he nearly drove me crazy in his first year.  They are a wonderful breed but very boisterous, extremely energetic and demand a lot of your time and attention.

If you're sure it's the breed for you go ahead by all means - but perhaps one at a time would preserve your sanity :)
