she is good during the day. we've had her a couple of months now and she has really come out of herself and done well, this is the only problem we have. she is 3 and a staffy whippet cross. i think she was mistreated in her old home and she was extremely scared. she seems very happy now but i dont know what to do about this. i dont want to punish her obviously but i would like this to stop. id appreciate any advice. thatnkyou

When you say she wees at night. Is this when you put her to bed and go to bed yourself. My friends dog did this (rescue-stray). They left a light on for her and she seemed fine. Think as she was a stray the night made her nervous. One of those push button battery lights are the best.
If she is doing it while you are still up and around then increase the times you let her out and stick with it. Is she generally more nervous of an evening anyway then keep going and she will improve as she has done in the day. Hope this helps and stick at it. You're doing a great job.
Why don't you join then you can give a bit more information

Hi guest,

First thing to do is to get her checked by a vet and do a urine test to rule out any physical problems.

Other thing to try is to crate train her, so as to avoid these accidents and wake up nice and early to let her out. Very rarely will a dog soil its crate.

If it's to do with separation anxiety, then you can have the crate in your bedroom and slowly but surely move it further and further away, until it's in its final place.

All the best,
Patty
