Just a gentle, lighter look at life :)
Mummy got upset today, some people were quite rude
About show dogs and their mums - just the usual feud
She smiled at me, at how I'd grown from pup to little tyke
Then she thought she'd tell them all to take a blooming hike !
But calmly and rationally she decided what was best
Was to compose a little ditty and get it off her chest
So bear with her while she tells you all a little bit about
What it's like for me, a trainee pup in a home where I have clout !
I must admit to being scared when I arrived at my new house
At first I was so small and quiet - just like a little mouse
I met my Uncle Rufus but he didn't seem too keen
But soon he came to love me and keeps me very clean !
When I became 11 weeks and had my jabs all done
Daddy put my lead on and out we went for fun
The walks were great, my dad was proud and gave me lots of treats
I can understand why the children get excited now for sweets !
At 12 weeks old we all went out to a place called 'County Show'
I wasn't sure why we were there, well how was I to know
That lots of dogs were meeting up to strut around a ring
I didn't know mum and dad went in for that kind of thing !
We all sat down upon the grass and watched the other dogs
Mummy looked all nervous so I gave her lots of snogs
I thought it would be my turn, and that's why I was here
But no mum took in Rufus and daddy gave a cheer
Uncle Rufus won four times, a third and the rest were first
Mummy was so proud of him she looked all set to burst
Your turn soon, she said to me, my little brindle boy
But only if you want to and it's something you enjoy !
Well now we go to ring craft where we can strut our stuff
And I've come to know the other dogs, some look pretty tough
Sometimes I get too tired and I jump up at my mum
But she's never cross or angry or smacks my little bum !
We use it as a social thing, the friends we've made are swell
And last night I fell in love with a Great Dane called Belle
There is a show that daddy knows for Boxers just like me
And if you choose to come along, the puppy class I'll be
I love this life, it's great for me, I'm the king of my domain
I'm proud of who I am you see, and Dylan is my name
So hold you tears of sorrow for the doggies in the show
Not all are treated roughly or unkindly I should know !
Don't paint each mummy or each daddy with the same tainted colour
As the bad people in the world that know nothing of honour
I ask you this, next time you meet a doggy you don't know
It could quite possibly have just won best in the bl**dy show ! ;)

Hehehe - if there's one thing having a pup in the house does for you it's to encourage you to do other things in life to keep your sanity :)
Hope you don't mind but his antics last night and today have inspired this one :
At fifteen weeks my life is great, so much to see and do
To run around the house all day and in the garden too
Uncle Rufus doesn't mind if on his ear I chew
Or this new toy that I have found, oops sorry, mummy's shoe !
Once a week I get to play with new friends that I meet
At ring craft when we go to practice strutting down the street
The Great Dane that I met last night, damn she is so sweet
The other dogs they said to me - just wait till she's in heat !
I must apologise to mum for last night I would not 'stack'
And I know as she bent over me something happened to her back
But it was getting late you see and I hadn't had my snack
So mummy smiled and said to dad he's tired and out of wack
It's ok, said mum, you're doing well and you are still the king
Of all the boxers that I know you make me want to sing
Oh don't, said dad, why would you want to torture him poor thing
He's only humped your leg the once tonight when in the ring ! :-D
And now he is sleeping soundly next to Uncle Rufus and looking like butter wouldn't melt - jeesh, love is :-)

Oh he's so scrummy........ :)
Thanks Vicki :-D I'm not sure Uncle Rufus would agree though as he has already been pounced on, boxer burned and had both ears chewed this morning, and that's just while he was trying to eat his breakfast :-)
Tara

One of my boys is called Dylan too.
Sarah.
Hi Sarah
We thought we was being really original when we picked his name as we hadn't heard of any other dog being called Dylan but we have sinced heard of lots of Dylans - are theyall this mad we wonder :-)
What kind of dog is your Dylan ?
Tara

Hi Tara,
I thought I was being original too!! Dylan is a Belgian Shepherd Groenendael (the black fluffy variety!). and yes, he's just as mad as yours sounds!:D
Sarah.
Ooh - they are gorgeous, our Rufus was next to one of them in the kennels when we went on holiday, I just wanted to give him a huge hug, so fluffy :-)
Tara

FANTASTIC.........made me smile.....from another Boxer mum.....of 2
Thanks Jackbox - can't wait to see what the little hooligan has in store for me at ring craft tomorrow, he's been boxer burning all day which tends to happen every time he's having a growing spurt, this is then usually followed by a 'shant do that, cant make me' attitude
