Today my sister handed her notice in, she works at a little fruit and veg shop in town. she is leaving because she is goin to 6th form in a posh school in the next town to us, so won't have time to get there after school nights..
She is so upset, the boss has said to her. ' you hand your notice in, and you have to find some one to replace you'
sureley thats not right?!?
No of course it isn't the law, if she is letting him down (as in handing her notice in today, and not going back) she could just out of generosity ask around her friends to see if they wanted a part time job, but she certainly doesn't legally have to do it! Unless of course, it is written in her contract, but I doubt she will have one of those, and even if she did, he can not physically make her work until she finds a replacement! :D
