Hi All,
i have bought some glucosomine and chondrotroitin tablets that have the same balance of both as cosequin D S that the vets supply.
Would it be ok to use them on my dog,and would the dosage of 2 in morning and one at night for 3o-40 kg dog be the same do you think?

Thanks Jonelle

You cannot OD on either so the dosage is immaterial.  Human quality g and c are perfectly acceptable for dogs and often a lot cheaper....... ;)

Hi Tohme,
These are High Potency Glocosomine and Chondroitin.
500mg Glucosamine
400mg Chondroitin sulphate
plus .
other addatives like calcium,magnesium etc
For humans its one a day but the same dosage on cosequin which is done on weight says 3 per day for his weight.
So am i ok giving him 3?
Sorry to be a nuisance but ive not used it before.

Personally I would be careful about giving added calcium to a dog or other minerals.

there are plenty about with no other ingredients.

This is what I have done with my Golden for 2 years now -has saved me a fortune. He weighs about 39 kgs and he gets 2 capsules a day.

One of my old dogs had two a day for years.  Very good they were too.  I used to get mine from Holland & Barrett.
