Dont know if you can help - we live in a quite close where children play out the front - however the one neighbour from hell has let his dog out all morning which is chasing the children around - seems friendly enough but you never know - just tried to call the local council but the person is at lunch - am i being over pretective here???????

This dog may not harm the children he is chasing but could run out onto the road and be killed or cause a serious car accident.

I would try the council again after lunch.

Hi,
Why don't you just go over to his door very nicley, and say"excuse me but your dog must have got out, it would be awfull if some think happened to it". Just see what response you get, if he is rude then say
it is against the law, I was only trying to help before the dog warden picked it up the charged you a fee."
Then if he is still rude, then ring the local dog wardens that will come and collect it. But!! he may be nice!!
Regards
Denese

Good advice Denese.

I was thinking along the lines of calling out the Dog Warden to return the dog to the owner. Having an 'official' warning about straying dogs (and associated fines etc) might be enough to make them think twice about letting their dog run loose.
