We want to visit Greece next summer when my daughter finishes her GCSE's as a treat for her because she has always wanted to visit ancient monuments etc.  Problem is we know nothing about Greece and although we want the historical side of the country we also want a nice hotel, beach etc.  Is it possible to combine the two and if so in which part of Greece, which resort, etc.  Please help as we want to book soon, thanks.

Just got back yesterday from a Treasures of Ancient Greece tour and it was FANTASTIC.  We only went for one week and did the tour, but most of the party stayed on for a second week in a hotel/beach resort.  Went with Thompson and highly recommend them.  Everything was included (entrances etc) and the tour guide was brilliant - really knowledgeable (in Greece, only specially trained guides are allowed on the archeological sites), knew when to avoid crowds etc.   PM me if you want any more info.
