Hi
I am in discussions with the gas board as a result of a couple of incidents in my village last week; the gas board contract out meter reading and these incidents involved a meter reader whose employer routinely issue their people with anti-dog sprays. Without going into too much detail, the discussions involve around the training given, the processes and controls surrounding the use of said sprays, risk and cosh assessments.
If anyone has come up against anything similar or has any experience in this area, it would be good to hear from you - either on here or by PM-ing me.
Many thanks.
Our gas board doesn't issue anti dog sprays as far as I know - as an owner I put my dog away and then let the meter reader inside, more for the ease of the meter reader than because my dog would do anything. She's basically pretty friendly.
Is it the dog owners who are having problems with over zealous meter readers, or the meter readers who have used the sprays and had problems?
Lindsay
