I'm sure I've seen somewhere in the past a bucket type thing, which you dig into the garden, then add the doo doo and a special liquid which then breaks up and finds it's own way into the soil. It's probably a bit like the old fashioned caravan toilets, with the blue stinky liquid.

Anyway, I'm sure I could make one using a bucket with a lid, my "Black 'n Decker" and a bit of garden.

Does anybody know how it should be made .. I assume the holes in the side, up a wee bit from the base.

Don't waste your time. Everyone who's tried those dog loos agrees they don't work, and all you get is a bucket of stinky sludge that doesn't go anywhere.

Hi you can buy them, my freand had one, but it keep get cloged up and it stunk. But if you havent got a big bread of dog it might work better, you could try making one make sure you put a lot of pebbles in the hole under it. warm regards debbie.

If its not too big a breed why not put the doo doo's in a bucket with some diluted disinfectant and flush it all down your own loo. that way it all disappears with everyone else's :D

I too found them to be a load of **** !!  I'm lucky and have a downstairs loo so most of my dogs goes down there :d

It would be less stressful for you to just flush the cost of this cr*p bit of kit down the toilet.......they are garbage - don't bother :(

Do you have a compost pile?  That's where we throw the poop from our ONE dog.  Shared office space with a landscape architect at one time.  He had a lot of books that mentionned composting and doggy doo and half his books said the leavings from ONE healthy family pet should be of no consequence.  Some books said you shouldn't do it and others didn't even cover the topic.  Hasn't hurt us though I did see DH scratching the top of his head with his hind foot the other night.  'Scuse me, that was with his foot.

Id have thought it possible to make something suitable.... but not just using a bucket with some holes in sunk into the ground.

You'd be looking at something more like an old fashioned sewage pit, different gradients of sand and gravel, with reeds etc to remove the different stuff out of the degrading effluent.

Possible in a LARGE garden and worth it perhaps if you have a lot of dogs, but if not, erm, not!
