My 9 week old Sheltie pup sure has found his voice... which is okay during play BUT he barks when I'm eating. He runs around and runs at me barking and nothing stops him. Like he is ordering me to give up my food. :< I have yelled at him, said no, even whacked a cushion on the floor hard near him to scare him off (which shows how desperate i'm getting), but he just barks more. :( He's even worse when my bother comes around. I don't want to take him out the room as I think that may not teach him anything. I most certainly do not give in to him either. I sit eating and baring the headache he's giving me wishing for a way of making him stop.
Any ideas? :(
By the way so far the play biting too hard has got less which is something!

If you shout at your dog he will think you are joining in.
If you pay any attention to him whilst he is barking he will do it all the more.
You can tackle it by treating him the nano second he is quiet and, if noise you can put him outside but you must make SURE that you only open the door when he is silent otherwise he will just keep on barking for attention.
Sounds as though you have several issues here, why not train him to go to a mat whilst you are eating, he will then be calmer, he won't be running around getting himself and you worked up.
Get his bed or blanket and toss treats on there, but obviously NEVER if he barks.
