Does anyone have any ideas on what to get a dog-mad boy for his 15th birthday in a fortnight?  I'm absolutely stuck - he's my partners child,  I'm definitely not old enough to have a child that big!! :D

Any ideas greatly appreciated

I'm the step mum of a 15 year old boy as well -although he will be 16 in a fortnight. :) Am also the step mum of an 18 year old and the mum of  3 kids aged 5, 10 and 13. I know it sounds boring, but in my experience once they hit about 12, ALL they are interested in is MONEY; to buy what THEY want -at that age it always tends to be something expensive and electronic which would be too much for one person to buy. My step son loves dogs as well but more than anything else he's glued to the computer, it's 12.37 pm here now and he's not even out of bed yet as he was up to around 4 am surfing the net, groan.

My son is 15 this month he is having some Peter Kay DVD's he thinks he is wonderful!! All his mates seem to agree to so it must be that age kina thing other than that its playstation 2 games and money for clothes, they do get difficult to buy for at this age..... and to think it wasnt long ago he was happy with a thomas the tank train!! I think i am going to get him to call me auntie soon .... he is taller than me and showing my age!!

Just a thought, would he like to work at a vets or dog kennels ect prehaps for the day?
You could ring a round a few places.

Is he dog mad or does he love a certain breed?  Maybe you could get him a day with his fav breed if you ask around.

The other option is money.  My brothers 15 and I got him a wireless control for his x-box!  Anything to do with xbox is great for him!  Family give him money to put towards xbox games etc :)

www.dogstrustshop.co.uk

loads of cool dog stuff, and some items you can choose which breed you want on them or put your name on them.. and all the proseeds (sp?) go to help doggies :D
(my birthday list is entirely from that site!)

Thanks everyone :).  I'll have a look on that site, the cash option sounds good too - easier than going shopping for him!!

He's totally mad about all dogs, but short of getting him his own dog (which will bring our total to 4!) I'm not sure that anything less will do!!

I'll let you know what I end up getting him.  I've got an 18 year old stepdaughter, they're sooo much easier :D

DVD of Ironwill - teenage boy in sled dog race. One of my favourite dog films :-)
