Does anyone know of any Behaviourist/Trainer that does intensive courses over 7 - 10 days? Somewhere I could go with my dogs for a break, preferrably staying in the grounds or surrounding area. B & B. Any ideas? I have tried to search the internet without much success.
There one called royvon, its the one ant and dec used when they had to do it on there show.

Hi Lazydaze - thank you for that. I went onto the site but they only do residential courses for dogs under 2. I contacted them to ask if their policy was unmoveable.........we will have to see what they come back with - but in the meantime - if you know of any other ones I would be grateful.

Janam, now why does that name mean something to me ? I know who you are so beware :d
Glad you've signed on at long last.
Not sure about 7-10 days, but Sheila Bailey does interesting courses in the Peak District, all sorts from nosework for fun to "how to have a happy dog" type holidays.
She's the one I'd probably go to.

Royvon do not have the best rep around here (10 miles away)
also,
What trainer would want to train the dog without the owner? and why?
As most trainers know, its the owners you have to teach to train their dogs, that way they know what they are doing.
Hi,
What do you think is wrong with Royvon?

Terms of Service prevent me saying anything further on this board Laura.
I have, however, seen the results of a dog taken away for training (not going to say where) he was perfect when the 'trainer' put him thru his paces but then forgot everything as soon as he got home ;) very expensive waste of money IMHO. This way of training does not educate the owner or their family, which is where the dog lives after all, as any trainer worth the money knows ;)

The first dog I ever trained for someone else had been sent away to a training centre(not this one as this one did not exist at the time) & it took me two years to retrain her & her owners so that they had a happy obedient dog. If you are not there to see your dog trained you hae no control over what is done to it
How come royvon have been going for 40 years, and they certainly changed my nans 9 year old Akita, the results was amazing. And she had an owner tuition. If i was brave enough to part with my dog i would send him there
