Topic Dog Boards / Showing / Boxer dog with spots on !

Hi - We have a fifteen week old boxer, dark brindle that we would love to show (we attend ring craft with him and do all the showing practices at home with him) , he stacks lovely already and really seems to enjoy all the show stuff :-)  However, although he is a lovely flashy dark brindle he does seem to have a lot of spots in his white bits (chest, belly and neck), that show through the white fur, some of the black spots are not just on the skin but have black fur too.  Is this going to go against him in the show ring and will the other boxer dogs laugh at him for being spotty ;-b

Hope someone can help or point us in the right direction - thanks :-)

These are classed as pigment spots.
They shouldn't penalise you for spots in his whites.

Hi Boxacrazy - that's good news - We've seen all white boxers with spots before but this is the first time we have witnessed it on a brindle so we got a little anxious so thanks for putting our mind at rest :-)

I have a mahogany brindle bitch and she has a couple of small brindle spots
on one of her front socks. She also has a small brindle spot on one of her rear socks too
but they aren't really that noticeable. As has her mother on one her socks.
I also have a cousin to my brindle bitch and she has two brindle spots in her white sock
on her front leg. I just call them beauty spots :)

LOL - unfortunately our Dylan has one too many to be classed as beauty spots - he's more like the I'm a boxer pretending to be a dalmation !  The rest of him is gorgeous and most importantly his temperament is wonderful, so calm and easy going, he's nothing like a typical 3 month old puppy so at the end of the day if a judge doesn't like his spots then hey, we do :-)
