My first dog was fed on it almost exculsively (with table scraps) and he lived to be 17 - died in 1997 - a good age for a large Lab cross............ However, I don't think I'd feed it now - it has a very high %age of grains if I remember rightly - if you're loking at 'cheap'n'cheerful' foods, then Autarky has always been highly recommended.

I bought some to tide me over years ago whe4n I had run out of food.  I found very quickly that it turned my bitches muscle tone to blamanche.

If you're looking for cheap and cheerful dog food that won't turn your dog to 'blancmange' (very good description Brainless :) ) then Gusto is about the best, @ £4.99 for 10 kilo bag from Tesco's  its made by Autarky and is really good for a cheap food :) :) of course Autarky (with herbs) is much better but then the price is a little higher, but not that high for a premium food :)
