Yes, Dundee. I am taking a few although if I dont get my act together tonight I won't be :-)
We got BPIS earlier in they year up there but my dog is not long out of puppy so still a bit young to challenge in the open class but hey we will see :-)
were you at Kirkcaldy last weekend? I saw a few Schnauzers last week.

i havent even botherd to do our ones tonight, will do it tomorow morning!!!!
Karen
I'll be there, too. Only taking Chance though. I've hurt my back and Seska just pulls all over the place, wanting to say hello to everyone :) I don't think I could cope with her tomorrow ;)
Not expecting much, though. We're in the A V 'Not Seriously Considered' gundog class. :D

i like the AVNSC definition!!! we have a class which is unusual. my poor mum will have to show so if anyone would like to be cheered up come to the utility ring (bless her, she hates showing). i love when shows are just down the road.

How did you all get on??. I am shattered I tell you. I am just in 10 mins , checking mail, feeding dogs and off to bed for a hour.
We got there at 9.30 am I never noticed Hounds were on before us :-( so we never got in the ring till about 1PM
My 14 month old got BOB and group2 ( judge said he loved him but gave the group 1 to an older and maturer dog think it was a skye hey I was please with group 2 at 14 months.
My young puppy just 6 months old , won AV Terrier Minor puppy 7 in the class then went on to win Best puppy in group. NEver did anything in the BIS ring but HE growled at the judge infact 2 times and a biggy growl. I think he had got a fright as 2 fox terriers were fighting just 2 mins before I Went in the ring with him . I will need to get him to ring craft this week and get it knocked on the head.
Anyway that was my day
Well done Blue!! Chance only got 4th (out of 5 !) Well, I did say it was the 'NOT SERIOUSLY CONSIDERED' class :D

Well done Both of you.

Hi Blue - well done with the two young starlets :) I didn't even know there was a show in Dundee today  I really must start actually
reading my dog paper! Had planned on going through to an exemption show in Fenwick but it was so wet on the west coast that I got down to some serious housework (just can't get the hired help these days :P )
Kinda wishing I'd gone to splash about in a muddy field instead ............... :P

LOL at you Teri, sometimes you are as tired at the open shows as the champs.
If you get bored tomorrow I know someone who needs her house all cleaned and ironing done :-)
I pay good rates :-D
By Teri
Date 13.08.05 20:33 UTC

Heck I'm shattered with a
"K" Blue :D
Can't do ironing - but can recommend a very good company ;) No - tomorrow I might drive East and see if I can help someone control the naughty white fur folks that create havoc (yep, knew that last story about an "in season bitch in the same ring" was dodgy!)
Teri
NSC gundog was won by an ESS, but can't remember if it was the black/white or the liver/white

Wasn't paying too much attention ;) I thought the Clumber had it. ;) I had to leave before the gundog group. My friend had a wedding reception to go to, so we left as soon as we were finished.

Hey Teri ,
You know on a serious note..yes honestly serious.
I was shocked at my puppy growling. I know people go on about terriers etc but all of mine have been bomb proof. He is such a loving puppy and good around dogs I was suprised at it really.
Hope With a bit more training at the ring craft he settles down. Not a thing I have to say I like to see at shows , growling dogs or out of control dogs. I have to say I am the first usually to curse them under my breathe :-(
PS I sorted that in season bitch out last week by beating her in the BOB challange ;-)

puts on "serious" hatHi Blue
To be honest with a puppy that young I
really don't think it's a huge issue ;) OK, so your dogs don't normally do that but he'd probably had quite a long day by the time you were in the BIS ring and, even more significantly, a growl/grumble is at least a warning - that's way better than just seeing off the approach with a snap! And the fact he did it twice - look on that as being twice as good - seriously! He was a bit grumpy, over tired and trying to make a point but didn't want to make a HUGE point.
I'm not trying to teach my "
auntie to suck eggs" here but I'd forget about it and just see how he gets on at his ring craft. I'm speaking from personal experience here because one of my youngsters on its first outing growled at the
steward when he came up to check the ring numbers and I got myself all wound up about it - it never happened again but I convinced myself for about 6 months that I'd better not
ever show that one under a male judge and I didn't for a while - then when I "took the plunge" the dog was absolutely fine :) HTH a bit anyway. Teri
i got 3rd in the group with my american 2day up at dundee so im happy lol! the ess won the puppy group not the nsc class lol! well done blue! xxx

Well done to you too Leanne :) Sounds like it was a nice show - think I might have to rely on the CD brigade to let me know when there's anything north of Watford to take my "kid" out to :D
I am not going to argue Leanne, but I was in the NSC class. There were only 5 in the class. 2 ESS's, 1 Clumber, 1 American Cocker, and me ;) The 2 ESS's came 1st and 2nd, the Clumber 3rd, I got 4th and the Am Cocker got 5th. :) Personally, I thought the Clumber should have got the class, she was gorgeous!
The ESS probably did do well in the puppy group, I didn't stay to see. :( I like staying to the end, especially when we are late in the ring, but circumstances.....

Thing is Teri,
If it was your dog and it was me giving the advice I would be saying the same :-) BUT you know what it is like when it is "your shoes" worry worts :-D :-D the dog just wanted to lie down and sleep in the ring :-) I will just keep working with him and keep an eye on him.
Going to take them all to the beach in a while as they have been staying clean all week :-)
PS Don't mind doing a list of the open shows for you. THe SKC do a good show diary that they send all members at the beginning of the year. It has all the open shows in Scotland and all the champshows in the UK including all the phone numbers etc. Worth having. You get it as a member.
Cheers for the support :-)

He'll be fine Blue :)
Don't forget I've got Belgians - they manage to sneak something outrageous into proceedings even as adults  so getting a bit of minor grief with a 6 month old is par for the course :D
Thanks re shows but I'm just lazy and promise to get my act together ;) No-one has any clothes at the moment so I'm in no hurry but have a few schedules for October/November. Cheers for now, Teri

Hi Teri
I went to the exemption show in Fenwick and my wee Irish girl really surprised us all by winning the Any Variety Sporting class :D She has been a bit of a pain to show recently and her movement leaves a lot to be desired, but yesterday she moved like a wee star. My older Irish girl got 4th in Any Variety Open bitch. I woke up yesterday morning and contemplated not going as well, but as the morning went on the weather improved and we went anyway. We arrived and found out it was being held inside in the Indoor School. All in all a good day out :D :D

Aw, well done Alli!!!! Wish I'd known it was being held in the arena - funnily enough OH did say that it might be but I wasn't convinced  - hate the "he's always right" scenario (but he is LOL).
Teri :P
