How do you with multiple dogs or grooming business sterilize your grooming equipment?

I was having a look at this? any thoughts or suggestions?

Looks like a more modern version of what I have!  But then mine is nearly 20 years old and has only needed one new tube.

Hey Val, Does that mean you think I  should I buy something like this then?   :-D

I do clean them well just now but I don't like getting my good stuff wet so thought best to invest in something that is for the job.

If you are working on other peoples' dogs, you have no idea what they are bringing in with them :o, so I feel that every 'working' parlour should offer their clients the highest standard of hygiene.  It will also protect your own dogs when you are using the same equipment.  If you are working on only your own dogs, then a quick spray will protect them against themselves!! ;)

Thanks Val, to be honest Val I have been using a sterilizing cleaner and an Advent steam sterilzer just now on the pet stuff  BUT I don't want my good tools getting rusty at all from being steamed so thought I would look at a "wetless" alternative. THink I will buy this one. Just wondered what others did and what options I had as in different types of sterilizing equipment.

Surely if your dogs lie, sleep together they would pick up anything anyway ? I've never considered sterilising my grooming tools (obviously, I can see why a professional groomer would need to do it) :)

I groom a few other dogs Daisy :-)

BUT even if I didn't and although I don't have any dogs with problems say your dog had some kind of fungal infection or something..see what I mean.

Wouldn't it be passed to the other dog anyway ? So what do you use - a spray ? Can you get it from pet stores ?

Thanks

If you are going to use an ultra violet sterilizer, please remember, especially if you have children, that UV light is very dangerous to look at

THanks Dill for that info worth pointing out..

I have a grooming room so just me and the mutts in there :-)

No Daisy , somethings can only be passed with close contact.

Not trying to worry you, and the unit is not for my own dogs, I trim about 20 other westies so have my own equipment for them that I Would like to sterilize between trims. :-)

I got a UV unit from Simpsons of Langley. It was also handy when I had to hand rear a litter of pups to do the canac bottles in too...
