We love camping, my parents who are 80 and 76 are going today for a week !!!. Too much for them really, I dread to think how they'll cope.
Anyway, best thing to do is to find a camping exhibition somewhere, or failing that, a really good camping shop where you'll get good advice. The problem is, if you haven't done much camping before you can make some expensive mistakes. Have you read any camping magazines ?. They can be a great source of advice. Maybe hire a tent for a break somewhere to see if you really like it but whatever you do, don't spend a fortune on lots of stuff that seem a good idea, but turn out to be a waste of time and space !.
Sorry if I sound a bit negative but I am talking from experience - my husband and I spent a fortune on stuff - lots of it lives permanently in the garage while we just take the basics with us !.

Thanks
A friend of mine has offered to lend us everything for a weekend, so we can see how it goes before we spend lots of money.
Now i need someone to reccomend a good site in Cumbria, maybe with a kids playground .
I hope we manage to put it up !

Don't forget a good first aid box including some protection from nasty bugs like mozzies. I went fishing last year on a new stretch of river and forgot my cream and deet. Had 17 bites on my hands alone. For 2 weeks I was in an awful state.
