Hope someone can help my seven year old Staffordshire Bull is unwell, he was trying to get to my father in law today and was extremely excited when all of a sudden he let out an almighty yelp, since then he keeps whining when he lays down or gets up, he is walking but very slowly and he is looking really depressed, which is quite upsetting as he is such a lively excitable boy. I feel he may have pulled a muscle in his leg or back, is this possible and how could I treat it without a vets intervention?

You can neither diagnose this yourself or get a diagnosis over the internet. Your dog will need to see a vet to avoid unnecessary suffering.

You can't treat it without a vet's intervention - to prescribe treatment when you are not a vet is illegal. You owe it to your dog to get him to a vet asap......
Yes it sounds like he's really suffering you should take him the vet. May i ask why you dont want a vet to intervene

Hi, The thing with Staffords is that they have a very high pain threshold, One of mine broke his leg & he was still trying to run about like a loony. You need to take your dog to a vet.
