I was beginning to think that I owned the only Labrador that didn't like to swim. A splash and a paddle was fine, but anything deeper than a few inches was a no no!
Yesterday, the pup, who is quite a little water baby was having such a great time in the river that poor old Molly decided now was the time to go for it and jumped in, out of her depth and had to swim. Now there's no stopping her. She's 20 months old and it has taken her until now to swim, and she loves it. I'm really glad because it was quite embarrassing having such a wimpy Lab.

I have a new strain of parsons parsons terrier..... its a parsons water terrier.... total water baby, cant get her out. SHe can usually be found in her own personal paddling pool biting the water and trying to dig her way to the bottom, she jumps in the bath if you forget to shut the stair gate!! as for swimming well she has doggy paddle down to an art!!
this is taking ages to write, keep having to re type as buffy keeps helping!

All my Cavalier boy's relatives love water, but he won't go in at all given an option. Got some hilarious pics of him and the puppy swimming in the river by me walking across and back and encouraging them to follow. Ellie's swimming round with her head held high thinking 'this is quite fun!' and Henry's paddling frantically with hardly any of him above the water and his eyes bulging, thinking 'oh my god why's she going across AGAIN!!' I didn't make him follow though, he's just being loyal!!

One of my Spanish doesn't swim very embarrasing. Saying that though at one of our Club events a couple of weeks ago the person who owns the land had a ditch made and filled it with water just for the mad Spanish and Carina dived in their no problem I was rather shocked :d

My sheltie had a course of hydrotherapy after breaking his hip as a pup. The look on his face used to be one of absolute disgust. He accepted it but hated every second. Now he makes himself scarce if there's water about just in case he gets dunked.

My ESS has hydrotherapy for his hip condition - the first few times he absolutely hated it but now he is totally nuts about it and we have a job getting him out of the pool! :D It sounds like Molly is a water babe after all!
