We are looking for a dog friendly car that doesnt eat petrol and can easily fit a nice sized fitted car cage. we are looking at possibly a Citreon Berlingo does anyone have one/ had one? Or does anyone know of any other nice doggie cars?
Ive just ordered a grand scenic the 7 seeter new style renault, its huge and plenty of room in the back to hold a double dog cage, plus the seats fold away that easy second plus very economical on petrol

Anybody else's dog afraid of the power windows and seats? She doesn't seem to like the fact that something can move without any apparent human contact.

Yep - got a Citroen Berlingo and am really pleased with it. It can easily take four large hairy Belgians and all their show stuff in it ( with the back seats down) and is really economical on petrol. We've just taken the crates out and used it to shift stuff to our local tip as were moving house soon and need to clear out- it swallowed LOADS of rubbish and was easy to load and unload. Mines bright metallic blue and is called Bluebelle ( sad) ! ;)

I have just sold my Peugeot Partner Combi Quicksilver, stable mate to Berlingo, both made in same factory, just different badges.
It is a 2.0 HDi and very economical and I am loathe to part with it as it has underfloor storage, overhead cabinets, a/c, CD, really roomy for the dogs etc.
I have a company Focus Zetec Estate 2.0 and it is also very roomy and zippy.
Kangoos are similar to the Berlingo/Peugeot but they do not do a 2.0 version and I prefer Peugeot engines
have you thought about the vuaxhall zafira ? you can put the back seats down & push the middle row forward ! we have one (1.6) very good on juice !
Aw tohme, i wish you'd told me!;-) I'm looking for a partner or berlingo with a/c but i can't see mto find any used around.
We've got a Zafira and its great at holding the dog crates and it has the added advantage of not being too long for parking which is a nightmare where we live.

Get the diesel for economy. Modern diesels are not the horrors the old ones were.
