We have BC littermates (yes we know!) they are both 19wks and having been weaned and thrived on AG puppy food we moved them on to the Graduate version. They have happily munched their way through 15kg of the stuff so last week we took the plunge and purchased 3 more 15kg bags...Both puppies have now decided that they have become bored with AG Graduate and are only eating it reluctantly and very very slowly...Should we persevere and keep feeding the AG or should we consider changing the diet?
We wondered if the puppies were indicating that they do not need their lunchtime feed so I've missed it out today (they had a roast bone each from P at H instead) but I wouldn't normally consider dropping the lunchtime feed until my puppies reached 6mths...I'm not sure that we are doing the right thing.
Any thoughts/suggestions?

It could ber with the hot weather and the relative slow down in the rate of growth that thye are just not hungery and you can either drop the midday feed (they won't want to eat in the heat of the day) or reduce their feeds slightly.
Personaly at 19 weeks I would opt for dropping one feed, adn depending on how well covered they are would either split the current intake into two meals or cut it down slightly.
Well we found out why the puppies lost their appetite. Nothing to do with the AG and everything to do with becoming ill with an infection! Still both on the mend now and their appetites have recovered so we are continuing to feed 3 meals a day until they are fully recovered.

I feed AG changed from JWB they love it but.....I do soak one meal and its gone in the blink of an eye.
The puppies are both fit and healthy now, the weather is cooler, they have reduced to two meals a day, we have tried offering both soaked and dry but still our young fella is reluctant to eat the AG Graduate...Sprinkling a few AG Puppy's on top interests him for a few mouthfuls but then he turns his nose up again.
I'm wondering whether I should consider changing to something that isn't dry eg Nature Diet but I do still have 30kgs of AG graduate for the young uns to eat. Is it okay to mix Nature Diet and AG kibble in the same meal or should they only be fed seperately (as I believe is the case with kibble and raw meat/vegetables)
my understanding is that you shouldnt really add anything to a complete but certainly I feed Arden Grange and my boys get various during the week such as chicken wings, tablespoon of naturediet, mackerel etc etc. Never done them any harm and they look great.

agree I too add fish and nature diet to vary the diet I just make sure they are not overfed.
Thanks I think I'll add a little 'natural' variety to the pups diet to see if that will encourage better eating habits. A mouthful of nature diet or a little fish in the kibble might help stimulate appetite.

i add tinned mackeral (in brine - strained of the brine of course) as an occassional treat, my dog loves this....
