I have a 5 year old male american staffordshire terrior and I am looking to breed him. I am not looking for a show dog, but one that would produce good puppies for pets.

Are you in the uk ?. If so you are not allowed to breed them.
Join the board as there are a lot of bull terrier people on this board though we could do with some of the other breeds of bull terriers as staffs are the most popular.
Regards Mick.

I think the Am Staff comes under the description 'pit bull type' and as such is at risk under the DDA depending on your local police/dog warden - keep your head down, make sure the dog is well socialised, muzzled and don't even think about breeding ;)

forget the first two, they are illegal in this country.

If you DID manage to get hold of a pit (i doubt youd get hold of an am staff, if you did this will still apply).... either its NOT a pit, its some staffy x lab x i dunno what..... or you are funding a type of person we REALLY dont want here.

However its extremely unlikely you will be able to buy a REAL pit bull terrier in this country without knowing some EXTREMELY (and quietly, not loudmouthed yobbos) dodgy people. They dont advertise, they dont do word of mouth, they offer you a dog, you dont go to them.

Go get a decent well bred KC registered Staffie, socialise and train him well and be proud of the happy, people loving breed he is.
