i have recently become the proud owner of a GSD 15 week old dog. he is a very unique colour. the only way i can describe his colouring is that he has the noram black mask and black dorsal stripe but his second colour is a white/blond.

when ever i take him out people stop me and ask me if he is a white alsation. obviously he isnt as he has black colouring and brown eyes, black nails and nose etc. but i was wondering what the correct name woudlbe for his colouring. i have looked online at GSD pictuers and i can not find a colouring that looks like his.

apart from a pic of a pup that was a white alsation but this one did not have so much black. any ideas?

i have a pic of him here.

He's a very pale sable(which is a colour pattern BTW not a colour) The black will spread & he might even get darker in colour It's not that usual in GSDs just that sables are usually dark red/tan but there are people breeding non standard colours like white sables & cream sables

This is a German "gray"GSD(gray is the german name for the dark sable dogs)who gives you the idea of the correct sable pattern, your puppy will not be as dark but will have a similar pattern when he has finish casting his puppy coat

Apart from all black, gray sable is my favour colour

LOL when they shed they lose coat like it going out of fashion ;)

He is a good looking dog.  I have a black, tan and sable female and she is getting admiring comments all the time.
