Does anyone know when the Dandies will be in the ring? Anyone else be there on Terrier Day, supporter for hire :)
Hi Isabel
We will be there on terrier day with the BT gang come and find us, would love a supporter. We are in Ring 10. Ask anyone round that ring to point me out. Will be showing my baby Rosie (Pipruda Back from the Brink and my big girl Toffee (Pipruda Destiny's Daughter).
The Dandies are the second breed in the ring in Ring 18 and judging starts at 10.00. Italian Greyhounds are first in that ring.

Thanks Jayne, I'll probably come for 10am. Are your lot first in their ring? Do you think turnout will be affected by the footie?
Look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
Yes we are first in the ring starting at 10am. Don't think the footie will affect things to much, we will be listening to the radio on the way up, as we will be leaving at 5am let hope that it is an exciting game, that'll might help me to keep awake :-). My son has even persuaded me to have one of these silly car flags so, if anyone sees a 4 x 4 travelling up the M6 with flag flying it'll be me doing my bit to support our boys in Japan!!!!

Are you sure of the time - most breeds who are first in the ring start at 0930?

I think I will aim for 9.30 anyway Joan, because I reckon there will be a late rush hour between 9.30 and 10.:)
Crikey Joan thanks for that. I've just re-read my passes and you are absolutely right.
That means I shall now be setting off at 4.30 in the morning :-(.
Thanks Claire hope to see you soon or at least chat soon.

How did you get on today Jayne, I left about 1.30 with frost bite! Were those lovely young girls with you related to you? I did manage to spot Joan in the end but she was waiting ringside so I didn't stop to speak and I was pretty desperate to get to my car heater by that stage.:)
Not to bad a day.
Rosie got a third, she was the little one in the cage of two, Toffee the older one in that cage got a 4th in Open and Marbles the one caged alone got a 2nd in Limit.
Got home here at 7.45 and am absolutely k*****d.
I agree I was absolutely frozen and the catering facilities were appalling, anyone going up there tommorrow or Sunday be warned one catering tent for everyone, plus one coffee stand. So I suggest you take your own tea/coffee etc. we waited 20 mins for a cup of lukewarm tea and a cold bacon buttie!!!!! Even the new Chairman of the Kennel Club couldn't get a cuppa, and if he couldn't what chance do we stand. lol. I was also told that the same caterers provided the food for the dinner dance the night before and most of the committee were spending a lot of time in the loos!!!!
The two girls with me Isobel, were my daughter and a friend who owns Marbles, my daughter was the blonde.
It was lovely to meet you did you manage to watch the Dandies being judged?

I didn't watch all the Dandie judging, it was all a lot later than I had thought it would be (there are a lot more Italian Greyhounds than I realised :)) I watched my friends two classes and a few more but I was so cold and there was a very good bitch there that I am afraid I knew my friends bitch would not beat in the challange so I hopped off. Attendance wasn't great but there were some lovely dogs there.
The catering was the worst ever wasn't it. I went to the catering tent about 10ish to be told it would not open again for 2 hours, was sent to the far side of the field to another tent, nothing going on there, returned to ask at the first tent again, found a smaller bit at the end that were giving out rolls (cold) and coffee (cool) but at least they did not have the nerve to charge people, they said they had problems with the electricity but my gripe was more the total lack of info about what was available where.
I thought the blonde girl was probably your daughter but I was not sure as you hardly seemed old enough :D Thought your dogs were lovely too, they are a super little breed aren't they, I have thought about them myself in the past, I adore Dandies but infact they are not the best breed for our lifestyle as they are not quite up to the walking we like to do reckon yours could be little goers though.
Wow Isabel, well thats made my day, woke up this morning feeling like an old lady and then wham you tell me I don't look old enough to have a 20 year old daughter :-) Thank you from a soon to be half a century!!!!!
BT's are lovely little dogs I'm completely infatuated with them, they are loads of fun and you are right they love walking . They don't mind 1 mile or 20 and will still come home and want to play.
Sorry you didn't get to see the Dandie Judging.
Hopefully we will meet you again and you can really get to know my babies, unfortunately after a 5 hour drive all I wanted to do when we met was to get them settled, and get a cuppa, some hope!!!

Pip, go on, get away, you nearly fifty, dont believe a word of it!!!! It must be all the mushrooms you make that keep you so young looking ;)
Oh hell Phil!!!
Now I've let the cat out of the bag haven't I. :-)
Mind I don't feel nearly ??, see I can't even mention that dreaded figure. lol
Mushroom might have something to do with it, maybe Jack uses magic when he makes them lol.

I had intended to come back and have another look at your BTs after judging but I was so cold and so lacking in caffeine it just was beyond me :) I got most of the Dandie judging, all the dogs and about halfway through the bitches before I threw the towel in. Blackpools really the only champ show I go to as I have nothing to show myself, so maybe have another look at your little guys next year.:)

Talk about the catering a friend of mine is a vegetarian, went for something to eat at 11.30, no chips or anything except for burgers, the man did say that there wasn't much meat in it though, as you can imagine didn't go down well.
Dilita got a first and a second and Lana got third, out of 3!! She hated the tents there and I must admit they were very noisy. I think unfortunately that her showing days may be over she seems to hate children now and didn't really enjoy it. Leeds might be her last show.
