Are there any singers out there, if so what excercises do you need to do before you start singing. All replies welcome.

Used to sing - have been in several bands, including one all-girl band where we got onto Opportunity Knocks.  If our drummer had slept with Hughie Green, we would have won............ for some reason (!) she refused!  Just selfish in my opinion LOL. :D

Don't sing professionally anymore, just warble away to the dogs!  Never did any exercises either.  I always thought that was for the "serious" singers, like opera etc. :)

I don't sing either, but I imagine it would be holding on long notes and going through a few scales, etc.

Blyes quite right, breath and sing from right down in the stomach !  Did a little bit of singing a few years ago but nothing professional, my poor dogs put up with me now and my parents.  lastar loves me singing though and his little tail wags all the time.  My others run away but he comes rushing in when I'm singing and stands their listening for ages :d

Before I would even consider singing, the main exercise I perform is lifting my 4th glass of Vodka and Orange to my lips :D

By then I am normally well loosened up and ready to share my singing  with the entire world.  I also think I am particularly talented at that point too
:D

My Mum has singing lessons - its something she always wanted to do and finally took up 2 years ago.  She's studying to grade 7 now and her teacher has said that she could advertise herself to sing at weddings etc etc!!!

She's a member of her local choral group and loves it!!

Unfortunately the talent hasn't run in the family - I'm as tone deaf as you like even if I do think I sound brilliant whilst belting out songs into my hairbrush!!  :D
