Hi,
  I was wondering if minature poodles were good as family pets. Whats there temperament and is their coat expensive or hard to keep?.

They can be fantastic little dogs, full of life and fun. They're very active (poodles were originally used as gundogs, retrieving game from water) and the smaller varieties have retained the need for exercise and activity. The coat doesn't shed, so needs clipping every 6 to 8 weeks, with a daily comb-through to prevent tangles.
