My 8 year old border terrier starts fighting my 2 year old westhighland white when ever we are eating . When we talk or pet him if the westy comes near he will  then attack her. Please could you help.

I suspect it's actually misplaced frustration.  Being in your presence should be a priveledge, not a right - if they start squabbling, seperate them while you eat.....  It's even easier to avoid the situation altogether by ignoring both dogs while you eat.
