This advert is in my local free paper this week 'Weimaraner Bitch 4 and a half months, silver grey, full pedigree, must sell.' Then a mobile number. I have posted before about the number of dogs offered for sale but this struck me as particularly sad. What will happen to this poor dog but what can we do if we can't offer her a home? If anyone from Weimaraner rescue wants the number PM me or can I post it publically? Best wishes Alex Edited to add this is South East London/Kent borders
No, please don't post the number publicly or you're simply increasing their advertising! Contact Weimaraner Rescue on: Margarita Booker, All areas. Tel:01293 871373 email margaritabooker@weimaranerclubofgreatbritain.org.uk
I couldn't believe my eyes yesterday when I saw a handwritten sign by the side of the road (outside a farmhouse) saying COLLIE PUPS FOR SALE alongside signs advertising eggs/potatoes etc.... Poor pups, being sold in the same manner as vegetables :(
It is so sad isn't it. Margarita is going to ring and see what the owners want for the weimaraner puppy and hopefully will find a home through rescue. Lets wish her luck.
To alot of farmers they are just another commodity and selling off their surplus is part of life unfortunately. My Willow was headed for the bucket although I doubt she would have survived much longer anyway as at 4 weeks old she hadn't had a scrap of solid food and Mum was back out working so had little time to feed pups and probably a very diminished supply of milk. Pups had food put down but if they couldnt fight to get it then they didn't get fed. So she was rescued at 4 weeks old deflead dewormed and hand fed for a week but he wanted £45 for her :(
