We have a 4 year old Golden Retriever Dog and would like to know how we find information about using him as a possible Stud?

Hi, the first thing you should do is read this post.  He will have to be an excellent example of the breed, have passed all the relevant health tests, i.e. hip and elbow scores, eye tests etc (a once over by your vet is not enough) and have done well enough in the show ring or working trials to have attracted the attention of those owners of bitches who are impressed enough to enquire about using him.  I'm sure others will add further information for you!

Hope that helps. :)

Have a read of the first post ("Using my pet dog at stud") on the Breeding forum of this site. It'll give you an idea of the required tests he needs, the possible changes to his behaviour and the responsibilities of all his puppies that are placed on his owner.
