Some of you may remember me expressing an interest in registering my little collie as a PAT dog. Well the 6 months I had to wait is up and last night I eagerly filled in all the forms. Then I got to the check list where it said about vaccines, either a copy of the dogs vaccination record or a certificate of homeopathic treatment issued by a Homeopathic Vet who is registered with the BAHVH. Now my dogs have been on nosodes for years and as soon as I got him home I started this little lad on them too. This morning I phoned the place I have got them from because I haven't got a certificate. She said she was happy to send me one as proof but that she was not a Homeopathic vet but a Pharmacist. She also said she doesn't know of any who are. :(

So, my question is, do any of you know of one (must be BAHVH reg.) who would send me the nosodes through the post (which is how the others always arrived) along with a certificate so I can finally register him? Thanks in advance. :)

Is this of any help ?

:) Thanks MM, sort of helpful but they are all so far away. :(

After an entire morning of phoning around all and sundry I am no closer to finding a supplier. It also transpires that the PAT form is wrong and it should be BAHVS, not H. I spent hours last night trying to figure out what the 'H' stood for, never occured to me they could have got it wrong. The only way round it I have been told of so far is that Homeopathic Vets like to do a consultation first. The nearest H.V. to me is a couple of hours away.

I still can't work out why PAT make such a fuss about being so desperate for more animals and yet they make it such hard work. :( My dog is fit, healthy, all flea and worm treatment is up to date and he has been treated with nosodes for the last 6 months. It's so frustrating!

I suppose they need to be as sure as they can be that the animals won't make the (possibly elderly, frail and ill) people they visit unwell.

Have just contacted Head Office, who put me through to the Head of Everything(?) She was very nice and when I had explained everything to her, agreed it would be a shame to lose him just because of that. She said as long as I get a certificate from my current Nosode provider who had already said it wouldn't be a problem, she would accept it. :)

JG, I could understand if they wanted proof of flea or worm treatment, but ppl cannot catch parvo so how is it protecting the patients? You need nothing to say your dog is free from fleas or worms which are transferable. In fact when I questioned Head Office she said it was only to make it fair on the ppl who do vaccinate! I also pointed out the printing mistake on the form! ;)

Anyway, his certificate is on the way so all is well. You watch, after all this faffing about he'll fail the assessment!!! :p

It's probably to do with insurance - covering their backs.
