Lucky me has been bought by my OH a new registration plate LA55EEZ so now I have to have a brand new van( what a shame!!! :) :) :) )I`ve looked at Peugot Partner, Vauxhall Astravan and Combi and at Citreon Berlingo.Which one should I go for?Any ideas?Gail :) :) :)
I used to have a Vauxhall combo, only sold it because I got an MPV but it was great because it has a vent / wire back so if you put dogs in there you can see them :) Plus I think Vauxhalls are good :)
my next van in 07 is to be a vauxhall they have the sld that i need and plenty of room to get 6 cages in.

Just to make things worse there is the choice of the Fiat Doblo, adn the Renault Kangoo, and the more expensive Vito (now is that Merc or VW??).

We have a Fiat scudo van which we had an extra row of seats put in and also a berlingo multispace which has a crate in behind rear seats which will take 3 German Pointers. Both have been really good and reliable. HTH

I think my Mum has just bought the Doblo - looks like a little Postman Pat Van though & it does look funny - but she can get all the dogs in it (which she keeps reminding me that was the reason she bought it)!
Brainless the vito is a merc, now i have friends that had those and they hated them and in the end traded them in for renault vans they said the vito look good but did not like the fuel compsumption and they where rather plasticy inside, never seen inside one so don't know, i think sprinters are fantastic my brother has one, but i could not afford the insurance, last time i had a van i had a hell of a job getting insurance for it as they would not believe it was for social domestic and pleasure the company said you only have a van for working, so i bought my 5 gsd's in and said you fit them into a car then .

We have a Ford Transit Van (ex crew bus for Balfour Beatty) which is absolutely fabulous for the dogs - we even have a fixed table and cooker in it (all fixed from new!) It was difficult at first getting insurance that wasn't telephon nos, but someone on Champdogs (sorry, can't remember who!) suggested Cooperative Insurance Services - and they are sooo cheap!!!

It was me :d CIS are brilliant and cheap!!! They do their insurance the old fashioned way, come to your house, have a natter, don't push you into anything and then get back to you really quickly with a great quote.

we have insured our new trafic ( for 6 sometimes 7 dogs) for dogs + 2 kids and us, its covered as s,d&p use as we will only use it as our car. we are with direct line, both them and churchill came up with good quotes, nfu are apparantly very good but they wouldnt quote us as we arent farmers!

We insured our old van with NFU and we're not farmers either! I think you might have to pay a membership fee (about £50 at the time) but they were the only company who would insure it for private use and not commercial. We got rid of the van (was on its last legs) and got a car which is still insured with NFU (very cheaply), but since getting second big dog, we need something larger again...back to the drawing board  We're looking at the Berlingo/Partner/Kangoo...ugly as sin (IMO) but doggie's comfort comes first. I would love a Smart car but, try as I might, can't find a way to get 2 dogs (one of which is a Newfie

) into such a dinky little car.
