Topic Dog Boards / Showing / CC'S

I have been looking at some shows and  it was a champion show. Now it listed different breeds of dogs with cc's on offer, then it listed another lot of different breeds which my dog comes under, but say without cc's on offer. Hope this makes sense but why do they do this.

Not all breeds with classes will have CCs to be competed for at all championship shows. If there aren't CCs available at a particular show then winning Best Dog or Best Bitch in Breed won't count towards making it up to Champion.

This is at the same show that they list certain breeds and have cc's on offer and then other breeds with cc's not on offer.

Not many shows have CC's for all the breeds for which there are classes. Dont forget that some breeds have fewer CC's on offer than others (down to numbers shown) and so a lot of breeds would not have classes on offer at most shows if only CC breeds were scheduled.

The Kennel Club decides how many CCs will be on offer for each breed for the year in question (based on how many are being shown), and what shows they will be available at. The organisers of the show will just have to go by that, they cannot decide if a breed should have CCs or not. For instance my breed is getting CCs for the first time next year, and they will have CCs at just 6 shows during 2006.

Ours has 18 sets and two of them are at breed shows ans one at our grpoup show.  That leaves only enough CCs for about half of the remaining all breed championship shows.

Some breeds are so popular that they have CCs at all teh Championship shows, ansin fact haven't enough shows for the CCs they could have.  Because of this the KC have decided to hold a couple of Limited general Championship shows with just a few or these breeds scheduled in a couple of years time.

The only shows that have CCs for all breeds that have CC status are the 4 representative shows.

Crufts.
Birmingham National.
Scottish Kennel Club (May)
Welsh Kennel Club.

Also each of the Group shows have CCs for all the breeds that have CCs in their group.
