My daughter is trying to find a name for her new German Shorthaired Pointer bitch puppy. Beginning with S original and possibly linked to Shim as that is what her other dog is called. Any suggestions?
Cheers
Sue
Slim? LOL sorry can't think of anything else!!
Shady, as in Shim Shady? Terrible I know. ;)
LOL do you mean Slim Shady?
>LOL do you mean Slim Shady?
Er, no. The other dog is called Shim and she wants something to link the names. It was supposed to be a joke.

Have thought about Sham, but do you think it sounds a bit masculine? Daughter wants to call her Shorti but i refuse!

sheugh, it's pronounced shuck and is the northern irish/scottish word for a muddy ditch (apparently) I found it on another forum and thought it might work? I supose it depends on whether she is a bit of a "lady" that doesn't like dirt and then it would be tongue in cheek but if she is a really mucky pup then it would fit :-D

Just to clarify!! It was actually Heather that originally posted not me but still need to find a name. All the things I have come up with so far she scoffs at (too 'girlie'!). I refuse to call the pup Shortie. She is a german shorthaired pointer. She is soooo pretty and the name does not do her justice. Heather does like the name Sham for shambolic! but things its a male name. Just to make life harder she wants a name to sound good alongside her GWP, Shim. Cant call it Shimmer as that is actually Shims full name. thanks for your patience. Still open to ideas no matter how daft they sound.
Cheers

Oooh - like Sharma - I may pinch that one, as I will (hopefully) want an Sh name eventually. Also, Spangle or Sparkle or Chamoir (sp) (know its a ch, but its said as Shamwor)
How about Shake, Star(ling), Spangle. All I can say is I hope you have your teeth in when you try calling those two :p

My dog's sister is called Schöen (sounds like shurn) - I think she said it was German for lovely (although I may be wrong).

Shum as in Chum but with the S :-d

Just to correct myself, the actual spelling is Schön and means beautiful in German - I tried to edit but couldn't.

Thanks all. She still keeps changing her mind. The latest idea is Floosie (dont ask!!!)

For absolutely no good reason other than it sounds good with Shim, how about Shakti?
As I say, no good reason, just found it on the internet - the name that is, not religion ;) - but she was the wife of the Hindu god Shiva.
I'll go away now ........
