Hi.  I hope you can help me.  I have recently lost both of my German Shepherds to illness within a year of each other.  The eldest was 10 and developed a brain tumor and CDRM, and the youngest was 8 and again developed CDRM.

I had made up my mind that I was not going to have any more animals due to the pain of losing them, but after spending the past 5 weeks going home to an empty house I decided to look into getting another.  One of my key areas of research was to investigate breeders for those who would be able to provide full medical history for the sire and dam, as well as the grandparents due to the medical conditions that plague the breed.  This is where I stumbled across the Shiloh Shepherd and was extremely impressed that some breeders are dedicated to breeding animals without the in-bred health conditions that cause so much heart ache to their owners.

Please please please can you help me.  Is there a breeder of these Shiloh Shepherds in the UK?  I would be most grateful for any information you can give me.  Kind Regards, Linda Clark

Some one may well come and say I am wrong, but I don't *think* Shiloh shepherds are available in the UK.

Try putting Shiloh Shepherds intot he search bar on CD, I think I remember someone asking about them before.

Good luck though :D

I don't think these do exist in the UK. You could always consider a Malinois -they are a bit more energetic than a GSD, but at the same time quite similar, and health problems are VERY rare indeed. There are very few breeders though so the wait can be long.

approach a REPUTABLE breeder of any breed and they will be dedicated to breeding dogs without any health problems.Choose a breed you like and that suits your lifestyle(as said Shilohs are not available in this country) and then do your homework in finding a good breeder.Research health problems within your chosen breed and then find out which health tests are needed to ensure that your chosen puppy will not be affected by them.Your next step is to find a breeder who completes all these nessecary tests and who is willing to give follow up advice once your pup is with you
