Hi
Was after some ideas as my OH has had a lot of things going on just lately and I think he is starting to become depressed :( I obviously want to help him as much as possible and will of course be there for him but I was thinking that I could do something nice for him - no suggestions of cooking because I am a rubbish cook and his is the Jamie Oliver in our house LOL! Was thinking maybe a massage but thats not a mega treat - any ideas of something nice I could do for him that doesn't cost the earth???
Any ideas appreciated x
Oh I 'm sorry to hear he has having a rough time :(
I don't know how much it would perk him up, but I have just bought my hubbie a Bolton Footie shirt with all of the teams autographs on it from E Bay for £22!! If he is into football, it might be just a little treat for him?
If not how about the good old sexy underwear? Always works with my hubbie!!! ;) :P :D LOL it "perks" him up a treat

LOL Sorry guys couldn't resist!!!!

How about organising an evening, just for him. When you get home, instruct him to put his feet up, and tell him that he's not moving all evening. Run him a lovely hot bath with tons of bubbles, light some candles and pour him a beer for him to sip in the bath. When he gets out, give him a lovely massage, allow him complete control over the remote, and then rub his feet whilst he's watching TV (after you've got him another beer of course). I don't really need to tell you how to finish the night off - do I?!
LOL two answers have been about... getting jiggy(!!!!) If it was the other round and it was a hubbie asking how to cheer his wife up, it wouldn't have even been mentioned!!!! :D

How true!!
Kelly, have you fallen out with me? Do you no longer love me? Have I done something wrong? Do you despise me? Can you not cope with me anymore?
No? So why the hell haven't you answer my e-mail, you nasty nasty nasty girl :(
;) ;)
he he he, na up until now I have had the boss pestering me every 10 mins, I have half typed an email but keep getting calls etc - a lot of naughty things taking place at work last night so little miss security has to sort it out - naughty customers!
Both sound like good ideas to me actually, I am sure he would love the whole bath, massage and beer thing, only trouble is he has to come in to work at 11 :( My new water bed is very lonely without him - I hate it when he seems down, makes me wanna hug him all day long - poxy stupid work! I think I will have a browse on ebay, and do what you suggested Sharon - including grabbing him a take away - actually I think a Curry would cheer him up :D
Cheers guys -x-
Hope it works :D I know what you mean about when your better half is all sad and moany.
If he is out at work till late, why not turn it into a morning treat, get him to have a good shower and when he comes down have a nice breakfast laid out for him, that way he will have had a good start to the day, and it might make his whole day a bit better.

Or, if all the above fails, do what we all want to do on times - slap him around and tell him to 'snap out of it' :D :D He has, after all, got a fantasticly terrific BBQ to look forward to :D
Ha ha, you are a nut case :D :D

I am the guru when it come to men who are depressed or down.
Pamper him and make him see how wonderful he is talking through things is also a great way, don't offer to many answers because they often work things out for themselves once its all out in the open.
Also sometime men when they get like this ( i know mine does) need their own space. Mine hates beign around me when he is down because he doesnt want it to rub off on me.
Why dont you get a bottle of whatever he drinks a takeaway and talk to him abou how he feels, only if you havent tried this already..
Hope that helps..:) Be thinking of you mate xxx
Hi Lisa
How is Rob doing? scott has gone through this before, he lets things build up and up until he goes in to this depression, I too have suffered from it and he was fantastic then just by being there so I guess th esame would apply.
I think we ned to have a good chat and some time together, don't you just wish you could make all the problems vanish!!!!

Oooh you two are far too soft.
Slap, point the finger and give a good telling off, another slap, more pointing, then order him to cook dinner.
**wipes dirt from her front** that should do nicely - job done
:D
Poor Dave, will he have black eyes when I see him on saturday???? :D

Hi - how about booking him up a surprise one-off lesson in flying a small plane? I did this for my OH - the local airfield runs promos quite regularly (no more expensive than a meal out and more exciting :) ) You usually just buy a voucher to use within a time frame of your choice?
Alternatively a few hours of something like quad biking, clay pigeon shooting, off-roading etc or if he's a speed freak rally driving? Might not be anything in those that takes your/his fancy but if so something a bit different (for most of us anyway) to enjoy telling his mates about and that he'll never forget.
Hope he perks up soon whatever you do. Good luck, Teri :)

Hi why not bokk him and even both of yu in for a pamper package at a local health club. I own a salon in a health club and we always get man and wife couples comming in for male and female facials and massages and you can use the gym swimming pool sauna and jacuzzi its well worth the money and soo relaxing :-)
