Does anyone know anything about this and if so what is it's uses?
- By kath_barr [gb] Date 31.07.05 08:01 UTC
Basically, it's a suspension of tiny particles of silver in pure water. It kills germs, a sort of natural anti-biotic. Very safe, no side effects and doesn't interact with drugs. I use it mainly for cleaning wounds (it's safe enough even for eyes and ears). :-)

Lovely stuff :) I use it for myself as well as the dogs. I have sinus and hayfever so my eyes are often gungy and itchy and I find it great for soothing them

Sounds marvelous, where would I get some from?

Hi Dawn
Holland and Barrett do it. Rivers of Health is meant to be a good brand and can be bought on line Here
I found the spray useful

I was thinking of trying it out on Kitty (American Cocker). She has malasezzia inside both ears, and Malaseb Shampoo works quite well, but I'm running out and I'm trying to think of something over the counter.

According to the link Colloidal Silver is anti fungal too, so fingers crossed it might be useful.

Thanks,

Dawn R.

Someone has told me that I shouldn't use it in eyes as there are particles of silver in it and they may penetrate the eyes. :-( Thanks for all the other replis. :-)

It is safe for eyes (even in puppies, kittens, babies etc)

For reassurance, do a Google search for .."colloidal silver" eyes..   and you'll find lots of info.   :-)

I always keep a bottle to hand it has so many uses both internally and externally, a brilliant product that is safe for newborn puppies, babies etc etc.

I have never heard anyone suffering from problems using it to bathe eyes although I am sure, like anything else, if it was used every day for 20 years then some side effects may occur.
