It is fine to cook them, freeze them or whatever else you want to do with them :)

Ismith people feed satin balls to dogs who need to gain or maintane weight, they should work for your dog :)

I'm puzzled too (and even after the latest post) - I now know what to do with them, but still don't know what they are  ??

I've never heard of them either, sounds like something you get from Ann Summers!

Satin Balls are a treat that dogs love and adds weight.
In ours we  add.

Soak a small handful of oats  in a tub of Fresh double cream (or jersey cream)
then stir in 1Ib of cheap mince (you want cheap as it contains more fat)
then add in 1 jar of peanut butter, half tub full fat cream cheese (Philidelpha)
then I add some beef suet and then the yolks of 10 eggs (the whites I add a bit to each dogs meal so as not to waste anything)
Mix it all up and then I make it into plastic tubs freeze it and get one out every day.

It really does add weight on.
If the mince is reduced in the supermarket then buy it all up and make satin balls :-)

I dont know anyone personally who has ever tried satin balls. Has anyone here ever given them to their dog,and do they work as well as they say they do?
Are there any dogs who have turned them down? Most underweight dogs i know are finicky eaters...

Ive being trying them with my bulldog for this last week and already Ive
seen a big difference.

Here's another "strange" weight gain recipe i came across in one of my books.

Mix 2 cups oat flakes
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 banana
Large drizzle of olive oil

Mix it all together and feed as snacks. The only fattening thing i can see in this one is peanut butter. Are oats fattening??
