THIS MAY SOUND A SILLY QUESTION FOR SOME IF A LABRADOR IS KC REG AND HER NEW PUPS HAVE ALSO BEEN PUT ON THE LITTER REG DOES THE BREEDER HAVE TO PROOVE THE HIP SCORE ETC FOR BOTH PARENTS WHEN REGISTERING.
I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT THE KENNEL CLUB AND THE PROCESS INVOLVED AS THIS IS ALL NEW TO ME
THANK YOU
SANDY

Hi Sandy,

the hip scores of both parents will already be on the KCs files automatically .............if they've been done. They will then appear under the Sire and Dams name on the registration certificate,, so make sure they are there, otherwise the breeders been telling you porkies.

THANKS FOR THE REPLY IF THE SCORES ARE NOT ON THE REG PAPERS I PRESUME THIS HAS NOT BEEN DONE BUT SURELY THEY HAVE TO BE DONE AT SOMEPOINT TO BE RE WITH THE KENNEL CLUB?

Hip scoring is not required to register a dog. If the puppy is registered its parents hip scores will be shown on its registration papers. If its parents scores are not shown, then they have not been scored.

Just wondering when the KC started putting scores on reg. certs.?    Hasn't been done for very long, has it, or am I just getting old?    Please don't answer the last question!

Hi Jo

just checked my oldest reg cert, from 1997 and hip scores are on, so from then at least!

It wasn't included on my oldest girls cert born March 92, but was on her daughters born 95.

The eye test results for theparents were on the 1992 one, but I think it was only unaffected results that were printe.

Some time after that before 1995 the KC decided to publish both the KC Hip and eye results whatever they were, so it would include eye failures.

But eye results aren't always included, depends where you had them tested.
