Please could you tell me how you would go about bringing a dog to this country from Austrailia.
A friend wants to do this.
How long are they in quarantine for?
And what is the cost of flying them over?
then the cost while in?
What have your experiences been?
Just some general information would be good.

What do you have to do with paperwork with the kennel club?

The dog can be brought in on a Pets Passport & so have no Quarantine period to do, the dog can be registered as an import if it is registered with the Australian KC, otherwise the Quarantine peroid is still 6 months

As to the cost etc that depends on how the dog travels to the UK

The paper work an export pedigree would be issued by the Australian KC & when the dog is in the UK & not in Quarantine then the export pedigree is submitted ti the KC with the form from the KC site

No experience of a dog from Aust in Quarantine but have brought in dogs from germany in pre pet passport days

moonmaidan, how old do they have to be before they can travel into the uk?
Do you have to go to Australia to fly back with them or are they sent over on there own?

Minimum age I think is still around 13 weeks, but it is a long time since my dogs were imported There are other psoters who have imported via quarantine more recently

They can be flown in on their own but you would need a shipping agent or knowledgeable person in Australia to help
