Idõ is 8 months old today(wow thats flown by!) and I'd say he squats 70 per cent of the time and cocks his leg the other 30 but he is starting to do it more, especially when we walk him with the girls! He lifted it so high the other day he almost toppled over backwards bless him, its still cute when he does it but I suppose the novelty may wear off when he starts to do it more often!!
I would guess your boy will start anytime soon but remember that some dogs never learn how to do it and some do but prefer to squat :D

I wouldn't worry if he never does. One of mine is 3 and still squats and it's wonderful. He has never scent marked over anything which means I can take him anywhere without worrying about him cocking his leg over something and he never pees in the plant pots like the others do. My youngest was cocking his leg well and truely by 8 months but even he forgets sometimes and does a half and half thing which results in him peeing over his front foot! :rolleyes:

Don't start me on the subject of dogs peeing on their own feet - my Cavalier's a show dog with a full long luxurious coat, and is totally incapable of aiming properly even though he does cock his leg. Keeping him clean on show day long enough for the judge to go over him before the yellow sticky belly and feathering return is a NIGHTMARE!!!!! :-)
