We have a 7 month old bitch who mouths off, she has done since we got her at 6 weeks old but was told by numerous people that it was normal puppy behaviour. We now know that it is not. She doesn't growl but shows her teeth when she mouths you. I think she thinks it's a big game but will not back off when told. Does anybody have any tips or know of a behavioural specialist we could contact, getting desperate! Thanks, Debra.

Has she been taught a 'leave' command? I assume by the term 'mouths off' you mean she takes human's arms or legs in her mouth and makes contact with her teeth without damaging the skin.......

Your first port of call should be your breeder. They should be able to offer you direct advice on how to deal with this behaviour. Please do not leave it. Make sure you get on top of the problem sooner rather than later.
If you want a behaviourist, you can try www.ukrcb.co.uk and/or www.apbc.org.uk
Often insurance will pay for a problem; but costs vary a lot from place to place.
Good luck
