Hi everyone,
Ive been feeding my 2 5 month old EBTs Beta mixed with free flow mince for the past month, but i have notice lately that their poo seems to be a dark green!? Does anyone else feed their dog on Beta and do they have the same experience?
I know its not the free flow mince as ive always fed them this and its been fine but ever since ive been using beta this has turned their poo green, sometimes one of my dogs has the runs on it aswell. Do you think they are eating the wrong food? Should i change? If so what could you recommend?
Any info/help would greatly be received.
Thanks

I have fed Beta to a couple of dogs and a few puppies for several years and don't recall any green poos so perhaps it is not suiting your dogs. How much mince are you mixing it with as Beta is a complete food so if you are giving more than a smidgen to flavour it you will be increase the balance of protein by quite an amount which is already raised to an appropriate level for the average breed in the puppy version.

I usually give them half mixed with half of beta. They dont seem to like dryed food on its own. So do you think i should give them a tiny bit of mince then?
Thanks

Yes I would be inclined to reduce the amount to just enough to interest them alternatively try a different method of interesting them such as putting a bit of hot water over the food. Fail in that you may have to look for a different food altogether but the draw back in the that is they may start to get even pickier and demand change often until it becomes increasingly different to find alternatives :)

Ok, will try that thanks for the advice. Does anyone else have any advice on why their poo may be green??
Cheers

Total stab in the dark here. Do you walk by any ponds/lakes/waterways with geese around. When I took Bruce to our lake he eat some of their poo and his poo was green !!
I am probably wrong buts thats the only time I've ever seen green poo.
Dogs poo will go green if they have gastric entritisis so if your worried about it i'd take them the vet and see what they say it's better to be safe. My bullmastiff puppy was on beta but i changed it and put her on james well beloved because her stomach was bloating on beta and she was always gasey she's okay now though fortunately. Tripe can also make they're poos abit green so because you're not feeding that i'd go with gastric entritisis.
Warm regards Susan

Always got green poos when i ever fed my lot tripe. Is the mince tripe?

We have brought them some bones with the marrow on them and have given them to them lately, perhaps that could be it. I think i will change their food amd go back to JWB.
The mince we give them is either Beef or Chicken.
Thanks for everyones advice.:)
