my old bot is 14 , and has had his vacinations every year without fail, along with regular worming.for the first time in his life his worm pills upset him. discussing it with his holistic vet who gives him acupuncture, she said that in her opinion at 14 yrs old he could do without boosters and possibly worm pills, she did say that his regular vet would probably say that he needs them at al costs. anyone got an opinion or expeiriences?

I don't vaccinate at all, I use homeopathic nosodes but I would certainly say that at 14 he doesn't need boosters anymore. As for worming, I only worm them if I suspect they have been infected as wormers do act as a preventative. You could worm him one day and then he could pick them up a couple of days later. If you clear up after your dog on a daily basis and groom him thoroughly, checking around his bum you should be able to spot signs of worms and then treat it. :)

The homoeopathic wormer is very good, it kind of prevents worms by making the dogs insides more hostile for the eggs to develop i think. Any way i like to use it, no worms at our house! Use it for two days every month, no nasty poisons or chemicals.

Hi
I am interested in the homeopathic worming treatment you have mentioned, I have recently got a GSD puppy who is just over 11 weeks old, I also have a 7yr old GSD who thankfully seems to be in the best of health.  Could you tell me where I can get the homeopathic treatments from.  Thanks

I use all manner of Homeopathic remedies for my hounds from several online suppliers, usually surfing around to find the best deal ;)

As they all have different deals on at different times, use google and then you should get a good choice ;)

The wormer I use, and from the sound of it is the same as the others, is called Four Seasons and is available online at http://www.doghealth.co.uk/fourseas.htm It is only about £8/9, can't remember exactly how much and one bottle lasts ages, treats something like four dogs a year.

HTH :)
