The website where you can get frontline (flea stuff) and panacure (wormers) cheaper than at the vets? The kitten has fleas, I can't stop itching!!! :( Also does anyone know the best thing to do to rid them from the house?
Don't know the website but I'd be interested in finding out that too. I know frontline do a combo flea treatment now that's supposed to do your house at the same time.
Lorna
That would be great - if it works, I don't want these blighters back in a hurry! I can't stop scratching!! YUK!!! :(
There is the Vet Medic website http://www.vet-medic.com/ they sell Drontal, Panacur etc. We buy all our wormers for the year at Crufts from them - so much cheaper than buying from the vet! You can also get Frontline from the website however Im sure you have to have a note from your vet.

Also www.hyperdrug.com is very good. Viv
Thanks I will check them out :D

Try American ebay, I get my worming and what have you for a vet in Greece that is on there, he has been reliable for the past 2 years also an Anstrailian woman calles Cathy MeQueen that is also on there.
I buy my stuff from http://www.bestpetpharmacy.co.uk - they deliver in 24/48 hours and delivery is free :)
I use 'indorex' which is a flea spray safe for furnishings (dont know if they sell it, i bought it from the vets) - it works really well and ive used it for years, its expensive (something like £16) but its a big spray and lasts easily for 12 months.
Couple that with advantage/frontline flea treatment and you will be flea free in no time.
Make sure you wash any bedding that they sleep on or have slept on. Spray all the relevant areas in the home - everywhere they sleep or lay etc, i usualy leave it for the morning or afternoon and then run the hover over to clean up any dead things or whatever.
At one stage i had a few kittens coming and going and they all came with fleas - they are my number one pet enemy so we have strict routines to keep them out!
good luck - im sure you will sort it soon :)

[edit: oh they do sell the indorex... and its only £11 too! :D]
Thanks Rox, I can't believe how much it has got to me, I can barely even touch her! I know it isn't her fault but it just makes my skin crawl! :( Is there anything I can do in the garden to get rid of them? She has only been going out for a couple of weeks, I don't want her to be picking them up again from where ever she got them from. Or will the preventative stuff REALLY stop her picking them up again?
Natalie1212. I must be odd! I quite enjoy flea hunting on my three. If I find one it goes directly into a jug of boiling water, DEAD. I find that if you scratch your dogs head it brings the fleas to the head or around the eyes.
Oh my goodness, how can you do that? I am such a wuss when it comes to any creepy-crawlies, but knowing they are on her, and if I stroke her I will be touching them, YUK!!!!
The one we saw on her yesterday is the first flea I have ever seen, I can't believe how big they are, everybody always described it as salt and pepper like bits, but this thing was running for the hills!! I rang the vets and she said to wipe over her with a damp tissue, and if the black bits turn red its fleas, there was only one bit I could pick up with the tissue and it was definitly red! :( I honestly can't stop scratching, I got into bed last night knowing I must have been laying on them and everything, I didn't sleep!!! :( :( :(

no cockerhouse, the best bit is catching the little blighters and "popping" them between your finger nails

I frontline my two cats and two dogs once a month with the spray and do the house occasionally with some stuff from the vets and I can safely say I havent seen a flea in over a year :) ( thats a smug grin by the way ;)
Claire *runs off to touch wood*
Yeh I do that bit aswell just to make sure they are really DEAD :-D Great, nice to hear I'm not the only odd one then. :-)
You lot are bonkers, if I had a choice I wouldn't even be in the house!! YUK YUK AND YUK AGAIN!!!! :( :P
lol i do the same, i get angry at them so 'pop' them with my nails, no chance of living then!
As far as i know... fleas need to live on an animal to survive, its their lava that live in the carpets, furnishings etc - i dont think you have to be worried about her picking any more up from the garden its too cold and hostile to them (unless there is a cat that she meets that might have fleas) if you keep her updated with her flea treatments then any fleas that do jump onto her will die and wont get a chance to breed in her fur.
The main reason i think spraying the house is a good idea because if for whatever reason the flea treatment wears off her or you forget to dose her then at least she isnt going to catch any from her bedding etc... and also, they can't bite you :D
I use Advantage treatment spot on things, i think they are easier than frontline but it depends on your fancy i suppose. After you have treated her, leave her for a while and then comb through her fur - if she is infested you might want to put a towel under her to catch any dead fleas or eggs you brush out (or get someone else to do it lol) if there are only one or two then thats not necessary. Make sure you use a comb that cleans easily and spray it after with the indorex if thats what you go for :)
Dont forget to worm her too - fleas can carry tapeworms and you dont want a kitten with worms, we homed an abandoned 5wk old kitten a few years ago and she was heavily infested with fleas and worms, she was very weak and never did gain any strength once we got rid of them. Sadly, Lucy died at 7 months from anesthetic complications :(
Thanks again Rox I will give them all a go!!! :D
LOL Not on your nelly!! :P :D

wuss ;)
I am when it comes to creep-crawlies!! It is the way they move with all those legs! Gives me the shivers just talking about it :(
