Where is everyone going on holiday?
Oh, no one answer, I have had mine for this year :( :( ;)

Only a few days in Dubai this year. Not really a holiday but a business conference for OH, while he is being bored, I will be reading a book round the pool :)
Have just booked 2007 holiday though
LOL 2007?????? ;)
Goodness me!

We got the brochure to book for 2006 and then saw they were offering 45% discount for 2007 if you booked this month. 2006 was a bit expensive anyway, so we thought why not lets go for 2007.
Seems such a long way off now, but it is January 2007 so no doubt it will come round soon enough.

I am just back from 2 weeks in the Algarve, Portugal. :D And i am already looking for where to go next year!!! Thinking of Las Vegas. Anyone been???

Fabulous place mackleback if you're into luxury and decadence - I'd go back in a heart beat ;) Even the footpaths "outside" of the hotels on the strip are air conditioned - quite something and much appreciated if shopping in 100 degrees +
We've stayed at The Luxor, The Paris and Caesars Palace - all super in their own right but CP was a bit special ......

I have been in Las Vegas once before, when i was 15, (9 years ago) but not for long. We stayed at the Excalibur (for 3 days), then went to Los Angeles. There are LOADS of new hotels now, so i was wondering which one to choose!!!! SO MANY!!! I will be taking my son (who will be 6) and OH. Any suggestions?? They ALL look so good!!!!! :D :D

Brilliant mackleback! I spent years saying that it didn't appeal but spent a few days in awe at The Grand Canyon and then the contrast of Las Vegas is a wonder of its own! Stayed at the MGM Grand with more check in desks than Heathrow's Terminal 4!! One is a natural wonder of the world and the other extreme is a manmade wonder of the world!!
im going to tour round in our caravan with two young kids and two SBTs wont i have fun lol

Got married in Vegas (Pre-dogs) stayed at Circus Circus which was a good job as it was excellent for kids.
As said would go back in a heartbeat too :D
Holiday this year? :( Unless you count 2adults 2 g.danes and a child in a 4berth tent a holiday! I call it torture but husband thinks it will be a good bonding session etc etc (Not sure what planet he is on)

Hoping to visit a friend who lives in Turkey aroound about October when it's a bit cooler there as when I was speaking to her on the phone a few days ago her thermometer was reading 53 degrees

Have already had a week in New York this year and a lovely break in the West of Ireland at Easter staying in the fabulously luxurious Ashford Castle. Would highly recommend it to anyone. And as I was there a week before my birthday, OH bought me a falconry lesson at their School of Falconry for my Birthday. Amazing experience!!
OH has just booked the flights for next April for my 30th Birthday...Barcelona. I can't wait as I love Barcelona and OH has never been so I want to show him all my favourite places. Just hope he likes it as much as I do!!
Me not going this year :( first time in 25 years that we havnt had a holiday.
My choice because i wanted a nother dog :) :)
in the process of booking next year, we always do a year ahead or we dont get a villa and flights we want.
That private villas book is great and we have had some smashing villas everytime.
I went to spain for my 40 with my mum and sister, had a wicked time. But bl--dy freezing.
Mind you it was november a few years back now though :(
Now i would like to go for my 21st lol

OH and I were considering a week in NY and then a week in Las Vegas. We have been to Florida a few times (where I'm actually considered slim.....hence the return visits :D), but it gets boring after three visits  so the split USA option came to mind. Won't be until next year though. Did it cost a fortune? Anyone booked with Expedia? I've always done package as it's just no grief whatsoever, but if I'm gonna need all the spare sheckles for the slots (:D) then I may consider another way of booking. Any suggestions?
God now I am really jealous. We are off to Bullith Wells and Bournmouth showing the dogs and sharing the caravan with 4 dally and a beagle and even the guniea pigs are coming this year! I am hoping to persaude my best mates to come but they are loved up with their baby at the minute.
If you rent from owners they are much cheaper and most live over here.
I am in the middle of searching now, going to try expedia?
The villa book you can buy in tescos about £2.60
Called private villas, own pool ect any where in the world.
Just went on expedia, dont do next august 2006 dates yet lol

We're off to Robin Hoods Bay :-)
Stacey x
Just back from honeymoon cruise, we went on the Thomson Destiny and ok so its not quite the P&O Grand Princess, but it was really fab, we loved every minute and as first time cruisers we are hooked - I urge anyone to give it a go! We boarded at Palma and sailed to Sicily, Naples, Sardinia, Toulon (Cote D'Azur), Barcelona and back to Palma for the flight home. Gutted to be back home, wish we'd booked for two weeks instead!

Off on our P&O cruise tomorrow, can't wait. This will be our 3rd - totally hooked !
lucky thing! We are planning a P&O one next year, now that we have the bug! The Grand Princess docked next to us in Naples and looked fantastic - the huge 'movie under the stars' tv screen on the top deck pursuaded us to start saving!

Which ship are you going on arched ? We have booked the Arcadia for 2007, went on the Oceana last year.
We are hooked on crusing now, nothing else like it. :)

Hi Vicki,
OH always customises our hols - we're hard to please :D When going to Vegas he booked the hotels of our choice through expedia.com and we were able to go to better hotels for a similar rate as some offered in brochures etc. He booked the flights separately through Airtours (we wanted a direct Glasgow/Vegas flight). It's definitely a good way of either saving money on a similar package holiday or getting more for you money if you want to upgrade the accommodation :)
HTH, Teri x

Hi Teri,
That sounds great! I think i will look at expedia.com too. We would also prefer to fly direct from Glasgow to Vegas, much easier with a 6 year old! I was wondering which hotels you would recommend and how far in advance did you book your accommodation and flights?? Thanks. :D
By Teri

Hi, we never book much in advance (sometimes only a week or so :D ) - but be warned, Glasgow to Vegas direct has very limited choices of flights and dates ;) Accommodation wise you can really suit yourself as to how far ahead to book. We booked the hotels a couple of weeks before the flights from memory (hotels we fancied were filling up fast!) but the flights were reducing in price so we held off a bit longer.
On the hotel front, the ones we stayed at didn't really have anything for kids but I've heard Circus Circus and the Alladin are better. Thing about Vegas in general is it's not really geared for family holidays IMO - they have their sights firmly set on getting the adults to spend their cash in the Casinos after all  and children aren't allowed in them.
I think you should leave your 6 year old with my lot and I should come and act as tour guide/advisor/au pair (I'm not proud :D - but then not very tidy either ......) and I'm still allowed
almost everywhere

Teri :)

LOL That sounds good to me! :D I was wondering whether or not i should wait till he is older before taking him there. But then again....i think i should leave OH at home too!! I doubt i would get him away from the slot machines!!!! ;-) We might have to settle for Disney World next year instead then!! :-)

Thanks Teri - that's the way to go then - more money to play at the tables with - YAY ! :D :D :D

:D Believe it or not I didn't put as much as a dime in a slot machine

just enjoyed all the luxuries that would otherwise be unaffordable elsewhere that's not heavily subsidised by those that can't resist the Casinos :D You'll love it either way I'm sure!

I just yesterday booked a 2 week stay at a hotel in the Dominical Republic. We went to DR last year for our honeymoon and really liked it. All inclusive is fab!! Roll on 1st November...... :D
We are taking the 3 dogs upto the west coast of Scotland for a week at the beginning of September...not sure it will be a relaxing break but it should be fun is nothing else! I haven't been to Scotland(well went to GBAS in November but that doesn't count!) since I was about 10 so it will be great to go back.
And me and Beard Boy have already been down to Devon for Paignton ch sh and we are having another night in the tent for National Gundog and another couple of nights at the end of August for WKC so that will be another nice little break for us..........not planning any foreign trips for a while, really want to go back to Orlando but not until Idõ is a bit older, I would love to go to New York and Vegas, I love America!
The closest I usually get is the airport as I'm always ferrying my parents to and from them!! And I get to stay at home with the house to myself so not a bad thing really :D
Emily

Just returned from 4 days in Cork, Ireland late last night, missed buffy loads, now she wont leave my side and slept on my pillow ith me and OH last night!! she missed us too! I got the best greeting home, she does cuddles with her front legs shes so cute! we bought her back a ball with shamrocks all over it, which she was well pleased with....
We might do a hol in cornwall or similar later this year where she can come too!!
Had a great time at Cork and OH cousins wedding was fantastic... free flowing champers all night... still feel hungover!!

Aah...there's nothing like an Irish wedding to put you off ever drinking again!!! :D :D

Have to say currently thinking about becoming tee-total..... can still feel the champers in my stomach!! have done no work this morning!!!

We have just come back from 4 weeks away, 10 days South Wales, 10 days Paington, and another 9 in Newquay Cornwall (one of the most dog friendly holiday resorts every.
If that is what counts as a holiday. back untill next week and then off to Bornemouth and Biulth Wells for a couple of weeks.

2 weeks snowboarding in canada at the end of the year, no summer hols this year as we got our pup instead. We just bought a camper so we are going to go with the dog somewhere in a couple of weeks.
Im going to Alton Towers for two days!!! Thats my holiday this year!
Cant really complain as Im touring round Egypt next summer, which Im so looking forward to as Im going to learn to dive, and I just cant wait to see the Pyramids.
Also may be going to America for my breeds Speciality dog show - not sure about that, will have to review finances!
People have mentioned Las Vegas, I didnt think much of it, I found it a bit tacky, I stayed at the Stardust, Vegas is great for the lights at night, you definatley have to go there to see them, also the Laser show is good.
My favourite place in the states is San Francisco, the shopping is fab!!! The HUGE shops at Union square and the small shops at Fishermans Wharf where you can have the famous Clam Chowder !! yummy !! San Diego is so beautiful, most the of coastal places in California are pretty including Santa Barbara and Carmel!
Oh I wish I was there now !!

Been offered to stay at someones in New York and she has SWD's too, can't wait, although I don't think it will be until next year. I've always wanted to go there and now it looks as though my dream will come true :d

I just love Dawlish - I've not been for years, but it holds really special memories for me and my daughter. We visited regularly for 10 years on the trot and loved every minute of it. I can still feed ducks and swans etc. for the whole day and not get bored watching them! :D
I am going to cyprus in september to get married !!!. I am so nervous about the whole thing though I need to chill out. I have not slept properly in weeks and keep having nightmares. I have no idea why though as oh is all i could wish for and more.
Michelle :)
The nightmares will stop the day after the wedding, trust me, so just look at it as if you have a couple more months to get through muhahahahahahahaha!
