I have just found out the pedigree certificate i have been given with the puppy i brought is fake.is there anything i can do about it.

Are they fake KC papers if so you can definately do something about it if the puppies were advertised as KC reg and not just papered.

No the dog is not KC reg but was advertised as pedigree and when i found out the certificate was not real i phoned the lady who became very aggressive with me and slammed the phone down.

Trading Standards might be interested in hearing about it - they may have had other complaints as well.

You should also contact the place you saw the puppy advertised and tell them what has happened to you. did you keep a copy of the advert?

When replying to any advert for a puppy always keep a copy of the advert. If it is a local newspaper for example cut out the advert and the date it appeared. You will find many papers do not like people like this advertising in their papers. If it was an online web site like www.Epupz complain to them as well.

Take the advert details and tell your story to the trading standards, and they may be able to deal with this on your behalf.

This is one reason every one on Champdogs will advise people searching for a puppy to go to the Kennel Club and  to the breed club or society. It is the safest way to find a well bred pedigree puppy from a responsible breeder.

Nobody here would advise you to purchase a puppy from the DLR either.

There's not a lot that you can do as you already knew tht the dog wasn't registered, in what way is it fake, has it got a different breeds name on it?
