Can someone tell me what it means when my 11 month old entire Male chatters his teeth. He does it when I or he has been near another male. Someone said in passing 'oh yeah they do that when another male is around' but I never thought to ask why.

Mine does it when he smells a bitch in season AND my neighbours castrated male!

Ted, sadly no longer with us, used to open and close his mouth like a goldfish when he felt fruity - used to crack me up LOL :D

My Springer Bess does it occasionally but I haven't worked out why or even what starts her off.

I thought dogs do this when they're tasting the scents of a bitches urine, my female also does it when she cleans herself, usually i'm sure male dogs taste phermones in the females urine and it tells them what stage they're at, in relation to they're seasons.
