Just to say i have been to two classes so far and what a difference they told me never tell a dog No they dont understand what your meaning never squirt them with water either as was suggested to me earlier the way to stop the mouthing was this way she said hold a tidbit in my hand say take it two or three times give it to the dog then on third or fourth time hold the tidbit when the mouth to take it say OFF THEN GET OFF if they didnt listen to off then if it doesnt work turn my back.Well after 20-30 attempts she doesnt even wait for an OFF now which in my eyes is a vast improvement so all is going super just thought i would let you know its working
Hi Trackie
Congratulations!
You will always be given many different ways of dealing with things. CD is an information exchange and people will be giving you there personal views on what has worked for them. I bet if you took your dog to a different class you would get another variation again. The key is finding what works for you and your dog and it sounds like you have done this.
Water squirting, firm NO and removing dogs from the room all work too but for different dogs and their owners.
Glad your both doing well. Let us know how she progresses.
